For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Weakness and power seem to be opposite in nature and incompatible with one another, but Paul showed us there is power in our weakness. Paul was speaking not just theologically or theoretically but from his personal experiences through long-suffering. He was not ashamed of his sufferings but instead boasted “all the more gladly of [his] weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon [him].” The key point is that he suffered “for the sake of Christ” not while pursuing his own endeavors. The Christian life is not a life in Disneyland but is a life in the midst of suffering for Christ to experience the power of God. It is knowing for sure that “God’s grace is sufficient for us and his power is made perfect in [our] weakness…For when [we are] weak, then [we are] strong.” This is the power of weakness!
