Ezra 7:10 For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.

Zerubbabel rebuilt the physical temple, but the other half of the job, rebuilding the spiritual temple, was not done. The Israelites needed to be taught about the Law of the Lord especially after their many years in exile. Ezra returned to Jerusalem to fill in the gap. From verse 6 we learn that Ezra was a priest and “a scribe skilled in the Law of Moses”, and, more importantly, “the hand of the Lord his God was on him” (vv. 5, 9). We live in a time of spiritual famine regarding the Word of God (Amos 8:11). Verse 10 shows why God’s hand was on Ezra: it was that his heart was set not only on studying the Law of the Lord but also on acting upon it and on teaching it to others. This is what is also needed today! Would you be able to put your name and whom you will teach into Ezra 7:10? “For I, _____________, have set my heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and to teach [God’s] statutes and rules to ___________.” May God raise up more modern-day Ezras, from young to adult, for His kingdom!

“_____________立志考究遵行耶和華的律法,又將律例典章教導_____________。”
