Ezekiel 37:10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.

The dry bones vision of Ezekial is a well-known passage. Let us be careful, though, that our familiarity with it not cause the passage to lose its freshness and power when we read it. God has shown us a way to come alive, when our hope is lost and even if our condition is like that of dry bones. When Ezekiel obeyed God’s command to prophesy over the dry bones, God did the impossible, making the bones come alive! Ezekiel was told to prophesy using not his own words but the Words of God, and he was told to do this not only once but twice. It takes faith and obedience to prophesy over dry bones, for practically nothing seems to be as hopeless as a collection of dry bones. Yet God was not only able to make the dry bones come alive; He turned them into a great army. We need to be like Ezekiel to prophesy by faith over our hopeless set of “dry bones”, and then by the power of the Holy Spirit something will happen. Therefore, keep prophesying to the dry bones to “hear the word of the Lord” (v. 4) and “prophesy to the breath”(v. 9) until “the dry bones” become a great army for God!
