Hebrews 1:1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
“耶和華說 the Lord said”，“耶和華說the Lord spoke”和“耶和華的臨到 the word of the Lord came”這句話至少出現了3,808次，可是以色列人仍然沒有真正聽從。
The core of Christianity rests on God’s spoken Word, His revelation. What we are able to know is due to the fact that God has spoken to us. All of creation is a result of God’s spoken Word: “And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. ” (Gen. 1:3) During Old Testament times, God spoke to the Israelites through the prophets “at many times and in many ways.” The phrases “the Lord said”, “the Lord spoke”, and “the word of the Lord came” appear at least 3,808 times, yet the Israelites still did not really listen. But God did not give up. In the last days God has spoken to us by Jesus who is The Word (John 1:1). In ancient times, if people ignored the words of the king, they might get into trouble or even lose their lives. So “we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” (Hebrews 2:1) America has drifted away from God because people have ceased to listen to God’s spoken word. So let us “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season” (2 Tim 4:2) because God has spoken.
