Philemon 1:17 So if you consider me your partner, receive him as you would receive me. 18 If he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, charge that to my account. 19 I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it—to say nothing of your owing me even your own self.

Paul did not simply preach; he also practiced what he preached. A runaway slave named Onesimus became a Christian and also Paul’s helper. Now Paul now wanted Onesimus to go back to his master and be reconciled with him. Paul was even willing to pay for whatever damages Onesimus was responsible for. Having faith in God not only means being reconciled with God; it also means being reconciled with others. This is what Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:18: “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”  May we continue to carry out this ministry of reconciliation and be able to say to others, “Charge that to my account!” because Jesus has charged our sin to His account!
