使徒行傳 26:6 起來,站着,我向你顯現的目的是要派你作僕役,為你所看見我的事,和我將要指示你的事作見證人。 17 我也要救你脫離百姓和外邦人的手。我差你到他們那裏去, 18 要開他們的眼睛,使他們從黑暗中轉向光明,從撒但權下歸向 神;使他們因信我而得蒙赦罪,和一切成聖的人同得基業。』」19 「因此,亞基帕王啊!我沒有違背那從天上來的異象;
Acts 26:16 But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, 17 delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles—to whom I am sending you 18 to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’19 “Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision
The heavenly vision that Paul received on the way to Damascus totally changed his life from one of persecuting Jesus to one of being persecuted for Jesus. Paul made three missionary trips during which he suffered greatly for the gospel (2 Corinthians 11:16-19). Indeed, Paul stated that he had “suffered the loss of all things and count[ed] them as rubbish.” (Philippians 3:8) So he was able to say boldly and loudly before King Agrippa: “I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.” What drives our lives everyday? Is it to make more money, to pursue higher positions, to just be happy, or for some other reason? “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” (Proverbs 29:18 KJV). May our lives be driven to the very end by the heavenly vision so that, even if we need to suffer for that vision, at the end we can say loudly to the world: “I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.”
