使徒行傳 9:³ 掃羅在途中，將到大馬士革的時候，忽然有一道光從天上下來，四面照射着他， ⁴ 他就仆倒在地，聽見有聲音對他說：「掃羅！掃羅！你為甚麼迫害我？」 ⁵ 他說：「主啊！你是誰？」主說：「我就是你所迫害的耶穌。

Acts 9:³ Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. ⁴ And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” ⁵ And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 

沒有比保羅（最初被稱為掃羅）的轉變更戲劇化了。 保羅出於對主的熱心，一直在逼迫基督徒，卻不知道他真正逼迫的那個人是耶穌。 但是“天上的光”向他揭示了真理，並徹底改變了他。 “立刻在各會堂裏傳揚耶穌，說他是　神的兒子。”（9:20）哥林多前書4：4 說“這些不信的人被這世界的神弄瞎了心眼”，特別是通過我們國家的教育制度洗腦了我們的孩子，但是“從天上來的光”可以打開他們的心眼，使他們成為上帝的器皿！ 因此，不要讓我們因此時的黑暗而灰心，而應將我們的希望和信心寄託在“那真光，來到世上，照亮所有的人……”（約翰福音1：9）

There is no conversion which is more dramatic than that of Paul, originally called Saul. In his zeal for the Lord, Paul had been on his way to persecute Christians but had not known that the One he was actually persecuting was Jesus. But “a light from heaven” revealed the truth to him and totally changed him. “And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, ‘He is the Son of God.'” (9:20) “The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers” (2 Corinthians 4:4) especially through our country’s educational system which indoctrinates our children, but “the light from heaven” can open their eyes and turn them to become instruments of God! So let us not be discouraged by the darkness of the hour but rather put our hope and trust in “the true light which enlightens everyone….” (John 1:9)
