John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

As we vote and await the results of the election, let us be reminded that Jesus has overcome the world. This is more important than who will win the election. “In the world [we] will have tribulation” (John 16:33) because when we stand on the side of Jesus, the world will hate us. But Jesus knew this in advance, so he assured us that He has already won “the final election”! Therefore, we can have peace: in Him. Voting is our responsibility and is also an act of prayer, and a proclamation to the world, so do not forsake this precious privilege. At the same time, the election is but one event while the spiritual battle will be ongoing. May God use this election to wake up His Church to be rededicated to His mission. No matter who becomes the next President, the Church will have much work to do. So let us take heart and move on with even greater passion for God!
