Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from[of] the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
3 兒女是耶和華[所賜]的產業，腹中的胎兒是他的賞賜。4 年輕時所生的兒女，好像勇士手中的箭。5 箭袋裝滿了箭的人是有福的，他們在城門口和仇敵說話的時候，必不至於羞愧。
Most well-developed countries are facing the crisis of childlessness. When people reject God, they also reject His gift – children. Actually, children are a heritage of the Lord, meaning that they belong to the Lord, not to us. Many Christians are also influenced by the world and view children as a burden or hindrance, particularly as related to their own careers. Children are not only a reward; they are also arrows (weapons) through whom we can silence the enemy when we are confronted at “the gate”. Sadly, many children from Christian homes are being trained by the world so when they are at “the gate”, they end up speaking for the world and not for God. Let us be responsible stewards of God’s heritage to rightly sharpen our arrows (train our next generation) so that when we speak with our enemies in the gate, God’s name will be honored and we will not be put to shame.
