2 Chronicles 36 15 The Lord, the God of their fathers, sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place. 16 But they kept mocking the messengers of God, despising his words and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, until there was no remedy.

Before the fall of Judah, God “sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place.” God demonstrated His love by persistently sending His messengers over and over, again and again, to warn his people. Eventually He sent His own Son, Jesus, not only to share the message but also to provide a way for His people to return to Him. Knowing they would be mocked or even persecuted, God’s messengers still went to speak for God. There is no greater need than now for God’s messengers to speak as more and more are turning away from God, including or even especially our next generation. The same voice which called Isaiah is still calling now to each of us: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”  May we be like Isaiah and say, “Here I am! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
