2 Chronicles 17:7 In the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;.. 9 And they taught in Judah, having the Book of the Law of the Lord with them. They went about through all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.

King Jehoshaphat knew what the real problem of his people was. The Bible records a message of God to Jehoshaphat’s father, King Asa: “For a long time Israel was without the true God, and without a teaching priest and without law”. (2 Chronicles 15:3). So Jehoshaphat started a national Bible study program! He sent teachers out to all the cities of Judah and taught them the Book of the Law. “Jehoshaphat [knew] that the key to spiritual revival in the nations [was] a renewed interest in and commitment to the law of the Lord.” (YourDailyWalk). Without today’s students we won’t have tomorrow’s teachers! Let us renew our desire to learn about, and to live out, the Word of God. May we make a commitment to be teachers of the Word starting in each of our homes with our children.
